The European Patent Organisation is an intergovernmental organisation which operates the fastest-growing regional patent system in the world. It currently has 32 Member States and is set to expand further soon. Its executive body, the European Patent Office received nearly 194 000 patent applications in 2005. Its mission is to support innovation, competitiveness and economic growth for the benefit of the citizens of Europe. The EPO is one of the largest patent offices worldwide, and the second-biggest European Organisation.

Wymagania:
  • The formal minimum qualifications are as follows : nationality of an EPO member state a full university degree in engineering or a science;
  • an excellent knowledge of one of the official languages (English, French and German) and ability to understand the other two. (Your application may be considered if you have a knowledge of only two of the official languages and are willing to learn the third before starting work as an examiner).
  • You should also have a genuine interest in technology, an eye for detail and an analytical mind. Work experience in industry is not essential, but would be an advantage.
